Corporate Profile

Lemac & Associates was founded in 1972. We are licensed in California as an agent, broker, surplus lines broker, and special lines surplus lines broker. We also maintain non-resident licenses in approximately 45 other states.

LEMAC was originally started by the Fremont Insurance Group when they first entered the property and casualty business. They wanted to broker the business they were unable to write themselves. Initial underwriting operations were more successful than they had planned, so the brokering side took a back seat. The licenses were renewed every year but LEMAC was not an operating entity, other than being used for internal purposes.

In 1984, William Newton was hired as President to activate LEMAC as a wholesaler broker. In conjunction with this, Fremont sold 50% of LEMAC's outstanding shares to Mr. Newton. He then purchased Fremont's remaining interest in January, 1990. In June, 2006 we merged with the 4th largest wholesaler in the country, Risk Placement Services

Operationally, our corporate goal is to be a true one stop, specialty market "shopping center." By employing specialists in every discipline, it would be a rare occasion when you would need to use another firm. We have tremendous market access, knowledge, and expertise in Liability, Workers Compensation, Property, Financial Services, and Environmental. Our General Agency Division specializes in programs and smaller accounts utilizing their in house binding facilities.

Today LEMAC is one of the largest wholesalers in the West. We are headquartered in Los Angeles, with a branch in Orange County. We believe we have all the necessary ingredients to make us the wholesaler you want to deal with. Our successful history demonstrates our financial strength and stability. Our size gives us broad market access with the clout to get things done, as well as giving us the flexibility to respond to your specialty marketing needs in a timely and personalized fashion.

Lemac & Associates, Inc. is not owned by the national brokerage firms. We don't depend on them for our income, so we will never have to compromise your interests for theirs.
